Steps to take if your web application does not support the new Internet Explorer version 10.

 

Find the recommended browser for your particular web application, by searching the KnowledgeBase for “recommended browser” for your application.

You can test if Internet Explorer 10 will work by clicking the Compatibility View icon on the IE address bar,

REMOVING IE 10

To remove IE 10 from Windows 7 (and automatically reinstall IE 9):
  1. Click Start > Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a Program.
  2. Select the option to View Installed Windows updates.
  3. Select the update labeled for Internet Explorer 10, right-click and select Uninstall.
After a reboot, your IE 9 will be restored.

BLOCKING (RE)INSTALLATION OF IE 10

To block IE 10 from re-installing, download and RUN the Toolkit found here:
Store the files from the Toolkit into a folder you’ve created, e.g., C:\IEBlocker.
Click Start > All Programs > Accessories
Right-Click Command Prompt and select “Run as Administrator”
In the command window type in the command to change directory to the location of the folder you created, e.g.,
cd C:\IEBlocker
Type in the following into the command window
IE10_Blocker.cmd /B
to run the blocker command.
You’ll see a confirmation message that IE 10 has been blocked from installation.

RE-ENABLING INSTALLATION OF IE 10

To re-enable installation of the IE 10 update, run the same command as above, but with the /U option, i.e.,
IE10_Blocker.cmd /U
